Job summary

Anchor House in Trenton, NJ seeks a part-time Youth Advisory Council Facilitator to mentor agency youth, promote advocacy, and foster leadership within the community. This role involves coordinating trainings, engaging youth, and ensuring youth voices shape program delivery.

The facilitator will support youth through collaboration with staff, maintain documentation, and participate in program activities, with a 4-hour weekly schedule and $20 hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of professional work experience.
• Minimum of two years’ experience working with children and youth; willingness to engage with youth.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and provide an abstract for review.
• Must be able to pass all criminal background checks including CARI and CHRI.
• Effective communication skills including written and verbal; strong interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work well in a team setting and collaborate with colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance, and trauma-informed support to YAC members to promote advocacy, civic engagement, and community involvement.
• Coordinate and facilitate trainings, meetings, and events that build youth leadership, communication, and life skills.
• Ensure meaningful youth voice is embedded across Anchor House programs, policies, and service delivery.
• Recruit, engage, and support youth through collaboration with agency staff and case managers.
• Build and maintain community partnerships and connections to expand resources and opportunities for YAC members.
• Maintain communication, documentation, data tracking, reporting, and stipend processing for YAC activities.
• Participate in agency meetings, trainings, program evaluation, planning, and other duties as assigned.
