Job summary

The Door is seeking a Peer Advisor for the Youth Exploration & Career Navigation Hub in Manhattan, NY. This part-time, in-person role offers 15–20 hours per week with some evening hours, and an hourly salary of $22.00–$25.00.

You will help welcome youth, co-facilitate career exploration experiences, and support pathways toward education, training, and employment opportunities across NYC. As a peer with lived experience, you will be part of a paid Youth Advisory Council and receive structured

Qualifications

• Required: You are between 18-26 years old and have lived experience navigating systems similar to those The Door's members navigate.
• You are reliable, consistent, and committed to working with youth in an open-door environment.
• You speak with empathy, respect, and without judgment.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and outreach to youth as they enter the Hub; conduct light outreach to connect youth with services.
• Co-facilitate Virtual Reality career exploration sessions and support career readiness programs; assist with cohort activities.
• Assist with transitions to external programs, follow up on referrals, and reinforce the Hub's No Eject, No Reject philosophy.
• Participate in Youth Advisory Council and contribute to continuous improvement of Hub programming.
