Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc., a national non-profit, is seeking a friendly Mentor to join our team in Burlington County, NJ. This is a part-time, hourly role offering flexible scheduling and meaningful opportunities to guide youths and their families toward personal and academic goals.

As a mentor you will plan and deliver direct advocacy, develop strength-based service plans, provide one-on-one and group mentoring, and maintain accurate progress documentation, while serving as a positive role

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in community work and familiarity with community resources.
• Experience working with at-risk youth in mentoring or educational capacity a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance coverage is required.
• Bi-Lingual/Spanish Speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, organize, plan, develop, and implement direct advocacy service for assigned participants and their families.
• Develop service plans using a strength-based approach and the wraparound model.
• Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to young individuals and their families.
• Act as a supportive and dependable role model, foster trust and open communication.
• Maintain documentation of mentoring activities and track progress.
