Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is hiring a Parents’ Morning/Night Out Attendant at the Northeast Cobb YMCA to provide a safe, engaging environment for children ages 2–14 while offering guidance and fun activities.

Under the Program Director, you will plan and lead activities in alignment with YMCA values, attend trainings, and maintain positive relations with parents and staff; must pass background check and drug screening and obtain CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older; 16-17 with extensive experience may be considered.
• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a day camp setting.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children ages 2-14.
• Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
• Must show caring, patience, and a willingness to participate in activities with the children.
• Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
• Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff.
