Job description

Imagine leading the place where some of Nemacolin's youngest guests make their favorite resort memories. As Kids Club Manager, you'll shape the experiences, programming, team, and operation that make those moments possible. You'll inspire associates, develop emerging leaders, guide the business, and continually look for new ways to delight children and earn the confidence of their families, all within the standards and vision of Nemacolin's broader resort leadership.

What You Will Create

  • A Kids Club experience children are excited to discover and families remember as part of what made their time at Nemacolin exceptional
  • A vision for programming that gives children new reasons to participate, responds to changing interests and seasons, and finds imaginative opportunities across the resort calendar
  • A leadership culture where the assistant manager and supervisors are trusted to lead within their roles, encouraged to grow, and prepared for greater responsibility
  • A team known for warmth, attentiveness, creativity, and confidence, strengthened through thoughtful hiring, development, recognition, communication, and accountability
  • An environment families trust because safety, preparedness, facility standards, training, and children's well-being remain central to every experience
  • A healthy operation where staffing, labor, expenses, resources, and revenue opportunities are managed thoughtfully in support of departmental and resort goals
  • Partnerships that connect Kids Club with the larger Nemacolin experience, bringing resort teams together around holidays, special events, family programming, and new ideas
  • A department that continues to evolve by listening to guests, learning from associates, following relevant trends, evaluating performance, and finding meaningful ways to make the experience even stronger

What You Can Expect

  • Kids Club-level accountability for the guest experience, people, programming, daily operations, financial performance, safety, and operating standards within the direction of Activities and resort leadership
  • Responsibility for setting departmental and seasonal programming priorities and ensuring activities, special events, and holiday experiences are effectively planned, staffed, communicated, and delivered
  • Leadership of the assistant manager, supervisors, and broader Kids Club Team, including hiring, development, performance management, succession planning, engagement, and retention
  • Active oversight of the department's budget and P&L, labor utilization, payroll, purchasing, inventory, operating expenses, resources, and appropriate revenue opportunities in partnership with resort leadership
  • Accountability for safety and compliance, including required clearances and training, emergency procedures, incident response and documentation, and facility and equipment readiness
  • Regular partnership with Activities Team leadership, resort departments, vendors, and other stakeholders to solve problems, coordinate experiences, and advance departmental and resort priorities
  • A visible leadership role requiring sound judgment, adaptability, and availability based on resort operations, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and periods of increased business demand

What You Bring

  • Proven leadership ability with the confidence to set direction, establish expectations, delegate appropriately, develop other leaders, and create accountability
  • Significant experience in childcare, youth programming, recreation, or comparable children's experiences, supported by an understanding of hospitality and high-touch guest service
  • Strong business and operational judgment with the ability to balance guest expectations, team needs, safety, staffing, programming, financial priorities, and resort standards
  • Experience developing programming and evaluating its success through participation, guest response, operational feasibility, and business performance
  • Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, labor, expenses, purchasing, staffing levels, and departmental performance
  • Strong communication, relationship-management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and levels of leadership
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and relevant scheduling, payroll, point-of-sale, or departmental operating systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Candidates with extensive and progressively responsible childcare or youth-programming experience may be considered in lieu of the degree based on the depth, leadership scope, and relevance of their experience
  • Minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in childcare, youth programming, recreation, hospitality, or a comparable operation, including at least two years in a supervisory or management capacity. Experience leading an operation comparable in complexity to Kids Club strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing operations with responsibility for staffing, Associate development, safety, operating standards, and financial performance
  • Experience in resort, luxury hospitality, recreation, family programming, or another high-service environment preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and clearances, including FBI fingerprinting, PA Child Welfare clearance, and PA State Police criminal history check
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and other certifications or training required for the position upon employment
