Job summary

Rite of Passage at Alachua Academy in Gainesville, FL is seeking an Activities Coordinator/Recreational Therapist to plan and direct leisure, PE, and community activities for girls aged 13–18. You will organize group activities to foster teamwork, positive interactions, and discipline while ensuring safety and order during recreation periods.

A preferred Bachelor’s degree in PE, recreation, or related field is highly regarded, with experience in residential/community youth settings.

Qualifications

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in PE, leisure studies, recreation therapy or closely related field.
• At least one year of experience in group physical education or recreational programs.
• High school diploma with 3 years’ experience working with youth in residential or community settings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and facilitate all leisure time, physical education, recreational activities, and community activities for youth.
• Direct group activities to develop teamwork, interpersonal skills, and discipline, while maintaining order during recreation periods.
