Job summary

Youth Opportunity is seeking an Activities Coordinator to support the emotional, cognitive, and social development of youth at the St. Augustine facility. You will design and facilitate therapeutic recreational activities and work with clinicians to align goals with treatment plans.

The role involves planning structured activities, documenting progress, and promoting positive community reintegration outcomes for youth in residential care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and coordinate structured recreation and leisure activities.
• Use intervention modalities such as creative arts, sports, dance/movement, adventure programming, and leisure education.
• Provide recreational programming during non-traditional hours to promote pro-social behavior.
• Assess youth capabilities, interests, and needs; adjust activities based on progress and goals.
• Consult with clinicians, physicians, and treatment teams to align recreational goals with treatment plans.
• Participate in care planning and team meetings.
• Design instructional strategies and community reintegration activities to build skills and confidence.
• Tailor programs to meet individual youth learning styles, emotional needs, and physical abilities.
• Apply clinical knowledge to support individualized goal achievement.
• Document treatment progress in accordance with plans of care.
