General Summary
Youth Activities Coordinator is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and fun environment for children participating in club programs. The Youth Activities Coordinator will plan, lead, and supervise appropriate age recreational and educational activities at the Park Club and other designated areas, including the main clubhouse. This role plays a critical part in upholding the Club’s mission of promoting family-centered experiences while ensuring child safety and well-being. During off-season, this role will assist with banquet and club events
- Supervise and interact with children ages 3-13yrs during poolside and recreational activities.
- Lead age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, and group events at the Park Club and Clubhouse.
- Observe and correct unsafe behaviors, report safety concerns to managers on duty and Banquet & Events Director.
- Maintain accurate sign-in/out records and communicate with parents/guardians, if needed.
- Assist lifeguards and pool staff with behavioral oversight and member communication.
- Clean and organize activity materials, storage spaces, and designated play areas.
- Complete and submit documentation for incidents or behavioral challenges.
- Assist with set-up, clean-up, and maintenance of events.
- Inspects all set-ups and ensures that they follow the Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Ensures that all policies and procedures are being followed by Team Members.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.
- Assist full Events team with banquet and club events, when needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Job Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Must be 18 years or older
- High School Diploma required.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (required or must obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a childcare, camp counseling, aquatics, or recreation capacity, preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years customer service experience preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in event planning and/or coordination.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergencies.
- Strong communication, patience, and attention to child safety.
- Must pass a criminal background check and complete child protection training.
- Prior experience in a private club environment a plus
- Lifeguard Certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of social etiquette.
- Strong computer skills; MS Office and Outlook desired.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Highly-developed customer service attitude and skills.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements/ Work Environment
- Must enthusiastically represent the Daniel Island Club by displaying a positive attitude, a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job.
- Workplace attire and grooming must be neat, clean and appropriate for the work being performed and the setting in which the work is performed.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather and temperature conditions.
- Ability to Lift/Carry 35 pounds or less occasionally.
- Ability to Push/Pull 35 pounds or less occasionally
- Ability to Twist, turn, reach above shoulder, reach outward, stand, walk, taste or smell, work at or above shoulder occasionally
- Ability to Bend, squat, kneel, talk or hear frequently
- Ability to Handle/flip through paperwork while sitting.
- Ability to work inside and outside.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Act as managerial presence during events.
