Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Support Staff member to join our Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. The Youth ACT program provides intensive, community-based services to children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and their families.

The Clinical Support Staff is responsible for providing direct support services to youth and families, assisting with case management, skill-building, and community linkage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (social work, psychology, human services) preferred.
• Experience with children, adolescents, and families in behavioral health, youth development, or social services.
• Strong communication, engagement, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to provide services in the community, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Willingness to use public transportation for client visits when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support services to children, adolescents, and families in home and community settings.
• Assist clients with skill development in daily living, social interaction, coping strategies, and problem-solving.
• Support youth and families in accessing and navigating community resources (educational, vocational, medical, social services).
• Provide transportation assistance for clients and families to access services and appointments.
• Collaborate with the ACT team to coordinate care and reinforce treatment goals.
• Participate in daily team meetings and case reviews to monitor client progress and plan next steps.
• Assist in crisis response and provide de-escalation support with licensed team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services in the agency's EHR.
• Engage families in treatment planning and shared decision-making.
• Participate in outreach and engagement activities to promote client involvement in care.
