The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) seeks fully remote Adjunct Faculty who are subject matter experts in Fine Arts. Courses are online and asynchronous, with Instructors of Record responsibilities across undergraduate and graduate programs.

Teaching assignments may start at six- or eight-week session dates throughout the year. Areas of need include Art History, Art Theory, Digital Arts, Digital Media Production, Drawing, Foundations of Design, Graphic Design and Photography.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree (or terminal degree) in related field for undergraduate programs.
  • Graduate programs require Doctorate or terminal degree and/or significant related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses online as Instructor of Record.
  • Deliver instruction aligned with YourPace competency‑based model and online delivery.
  • Evaluate student work and provide timely feedback in a fully online environment.

Job Description

TheUniversity of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking to hire fully remoteAdjunct Faculty members who are subject matter experts in Fine Arts .

UMPI is a public institution for competency-based education (CBE) accredited by New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), the YourPace degree programs are self-paced, student-driven, student-centered, subscription based competency-education model that primarily serves adult learners. YourPace allows high flexibility for students without compromising academic quality.

YourPace invites applicants to be Adjunct Faculty members to be Instructors of Record from a wide range of disciplines and professional skills for undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Teaching assignments may begin at any of our six or eight-week session start dates per year. YourPace seeks subject matter experts in the following areas:

  • Art History
  • Art Theory
  • Digital Arts
  • Digital Media Production
  • Drawing
  • Foundations of Design
  • Graphic Design
  • Photography

All YourPace competencies are fully online and asynchronous, and interpersonal interactions with students are expected. YourPace Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on agreements as per the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreements/MOU.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • YourPace Adjunct Faculty for undergraduate degree programs must have at minimum, a master’s degree (or terminal degree in field) from an accredited institution, and/or significant work experience in a related field.
  • YourPace Adjunct Faculty for graduate degree programs must have a Doctorate, terminal, advanced degree in field of study, and/or significant work experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching at the college-level
  • Online teaching experience
  • Teaching in a competency-based education model

    Technology Requirements: YourPace Adjunct Faculty are required to have the appropriate technology to teach in a fully online environment. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Computer (laptop) with appropriate amounts of processing speed
