Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis seeks a Senior Program Instructor to plan and deliver Chronic Disease Prevention programs under the Wellness Director, helping participants achieve their health and well-being goals.

This part-time role based at the Association Office in Indianapolis requires 2–4 years of class leadership with diverse populations, HIPAA and CPR/AED First Aid certifications, and accurate, confidential data entry after each class.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+, high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-4 years of experience leading/facilitating classes with special populations.
• Experience or ability to work with patients’ physician instructions.
• Knowledge of health behavior and challenges with lifestyle changes.
• Maintain HIPAA, CPR, First Aid certifications.
• Ability to give clear directions and inspect safety in the classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality of program participants.
• Complete all YMCA trainings on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective and meaningful instruction in a motivating, friendly environment.
• Develop relationships that foster small community connections.
• Be available to participants before/after class for questions.
• Enter program data accurately, securely, and immediately after class.
• Follow YMCA privacy practices in compliance with HIPAA.
• Perform other duties as needed at the YMCA.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective and meaningful instruction to class participants while creating a motivating, friendly, and non-competitive environment.
• Develop and maintain relationships that foster small community connections.
• Be available to participants before and after class to answer questions and follow up as needed.
• Conduct yourself in accordance with the YMCA Mission.
• Enter program data accurately, securely, and immediately after class.
• Follow YMCA privacy practice in compliance with federal HIPAA regulations.
• Perform other duties/ assignments as needed at the YMCA.
