Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Washington in Virginia is seeking passionate Senior Program Leaders for our Pre-K / Kindergarten program at Middleburg Elementary. You will create a positive learning environment for early learners and mentor other staff while supporting families.

This part-time role offers afternoon/evening hours during the school year, competitive compensation, a Free Y membership, and opportunities to collaborate with a dedicated team and contribute to children's growth and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience with children ages 3–6 in licensed/educational settings.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience fostering an inclusive environment for children of all abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise engaging activities for Pre-K and Kindergarten students.
• Design developmentally appropriate lesson plans and routines.
• Provide mentorship and support to Group Leaders
• Communicate clearly with families and site leadership
• Monitor safety, attendance, and behavior

Location: YMCA Loudoun - Middleburg Elementary School
Compensation: $17.00 per hour
Schedule:Part-Time | Afternoon/Evening Hours | School Year

We are looking for passionate and dependable Senior Program Leaders to join our Pre-K / Kindergarten program at the YMCA at Middleburg Elementary. This role is focused on creating a positive environment for early learners while supporting and guiding other staff.

• Lead and supervise engaging activities for Pre-K and Kindergarten students
• Design developmentally appropriate lesson plans and routines
• Provide mentorship and support to Group Leaders
• Communicate clearly with families and site leadership
• Monitor safety, attendance, and behavior
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with children ages 3–6 in a licensed or educational setting
• High school diploma or GED required; CDA or early childhood coursework strongly preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience fostering an environment for children of all abilities is valued.

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday
• Before Care 6:30am-8:00am and or
• After Care 2:30pm-6:30pm
