Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is hiring Group Leaders for our School Age Child Care program in Middleburg, VA. This part-time role offers mornings and after-school shifts with a focus on creating a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children.

You will supervise, plan activities, support social-emotional learning, and communicate with families and program staff. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, and prior childcare experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-middle aged children in a school or childcare setting.
• High school diploma or GED required; relevant coursework or degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and behavior management skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience fostering an environment for children of all abilities is valued.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage school-age children in recreational, academic, and enrichment activities
• Create a safe and stimulating environment for all participants
• Plan and implement daily lessons and activities that support social-emotional and academic growth
• Provide guidance and positive behavior support
• Maintain communication with families and program staff

Compensation: $15 per hour
Schedule: Part-Time | Mornings/Evening Hours | School Year
