Job summary

YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is seeking a part-time Café team member to prepare and serve menu items, greet members, and maintain a clean, welcoming space.

Starting rate is $11.00 per hour. You must be CPR, AED, First Aid certified (training provided if needed) and complete annual compliance training within 30 days of hire. Must be 18 years of age or older and able to stand, lift 30 pounds, and handle cash accurately.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve menu items according to established recipes and served in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting members and guests, taking orders, answering questions, and making menu recommendations.
• Customize menu items to meet guest preferences while maintaining recipe standards.
• Accurately process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary café, including food preparation areas, dining areas, and equipment.
• Complete an inventory checklist throughout scheduled shift.
• Communicate shortage of inventory to a supervisor.
• Follow all YMCA policies and health department regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, stocking, and basic equipment maintenance.
• Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors, and volunteers.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the YMCA Café.

Requirements

• Must be certified in CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
• Must complete all required annual compliance training within 30 days of hire and renewed annually.
• Must be 18yrs of age or older
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a service-oriented environment.
• Basic math skills and the ability to accurately handle cash and process transactions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 30 pounds.

Salary Description

$11.00 per hour
