Qualifications

• Must be CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid certified.
• Must complete all required annual compliance training within 30 days of hire and renewed annually.
• Must be 18yrs of age or older.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a service-oriented environment.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and process transactions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve menu items according to established recipes and health regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting members, taking orders, and offering menu recommendations.
• Customize menu items to meet guest preferences while maintaining recipe standards.
• Process cash, credit card, and other payments accurately.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary café and work areas.
• Complete inventory checklists during shifts and communicate shortages to a supervisor.
• Follow YMCA policies and health department regulations on food handling and safety.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures including cleaning, stocking, and basic equipment maintenance.
• Develop meaningful relationships with members, donors, and volunteers.
• Perform other duties to support café operations.

This position is responsible for providing friendly, efficient customer service while preparing and serving menu items in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Prepare and serve menu items according to established recipes and served in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting members and guests, taking orders, answering questions, and making menu recommendations.
• Customize menu items to meet guest preferences while maintaining recipe standards.
• Accurately process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary café, including food preparation areas, dining areas, and equipment.
• Complete an inventory checklist throughout scheduled shift.
• Communicate shortage of inventory to a supervisor.
• Follow all YMCA policies and health department regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, stocking, and basic equipment maintenance.
• Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors, and volunteers.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the YMCA Café.

Requirements
