Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Taylor, Texas is seeking a highly technical Defect Engineer to lead yield-improvement efforts by quantifying yield-impacting defects and forecasting yield loss with predictive models. You will serve as the SME for a specific module, bridging inline defect data to final wafer yield and driving a data-driven roadmap with cross-functional teams.

This role emphasizes big-data analysis to uncover hidden signals and drive process improvements.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field is required.
• Broad semiconductor process knowledge including materials and tool operations.
• Advanced data analytics skills with statistical modeling and data mining.
• DOE/ANOVA expertise to validate yield improvement actions.
• Familiarity with Metrology tool models for defect inspection.

Responsabilidades

• Quantify the impact of defect types on final yield and drive actions to reduce baseline defect density.
• Improve predictive models correlating inline defects to final yield loss.
• Perform deep-dive defect characterization using SEM, TEM, or EDX.
• Act as SME for assigned module and guide process/equipment engineers.
• Define and drive a strategic roadmap for yield improvements and track progress.
