Job summary

NTC Language Services seeks reliable in-person Educational Interpreters for NYC-based assignments. The role requires bilingual English and Yiddish proficiency, with part-time, as-needed hours and starting pay of $35.00 per hour.

Interpreters will work in schools, facilitating accurate communication among students, families, and educators. Candidates must be able to travel to NYC venues, attend assigned meetings, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Be able to read, write, and speak proficiently in both English and Yiddish.
• Available to attend in-person assignments in NYC, New York.
• Previous interpreting experience preferred but not required, especially in education.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation for parent-teacher conferences and school meetings.
• Interpret for CSE/CPSE meetings and student assessments.
• Assist with student registrations, enrollments, and orientations as needed.
• Maintain neutrality, confidentiality, and accurate interpretation.
• Communicate professionally with families, students, and school staff.
