About Yelp

Yelp was created to connect people with great local businesses. As an Inside Sales Representative (ISR), you'll work directly with these local businesses to help them achieve their goals through Yelp's advertising programs. You'll contact small business owners via phone to understand their needs and tailor sales approaches accordingly. Success hinges on meeting sales goals, managing rejection, and working within a supportive virtual team environment.

What You'll Do

• Educate, strategize, and sell Yelp advertising programs through outbound calls — this is a 100% phone-based role.
• Reach as many businesses as possible, working one of the scheduled shifts (7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., in your local time).
• Manage a pipeline of clients in our CRM (Salesforce), including businesses like dentists, florists, and restaurant owners.
• Work from home, following a set Monday to Friday schedule.
• Become an expert in Yelp's advertising solutions, adapt to client needs, ask probing questions, and handle objections effectively.
• Achieve and exceed monthly sales goals through strong work ethic and persistence.
• Stay organized and manage your time to meet daily goals, understanding that sales is a numbers game.

Requirements

• GED/HS Diploma with 2+ years customer-facing experience OR a Bachelor's Degree.
• No fear of making calls.
• Basic computer and email skills; familiarity with Google Suite and MacBook laptops.
• Distraction-free work environment.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently.
• Legal authorization to work in the US.

Training and Development

• Two months of comprehensive initial training, with ongoing career development through the Yelp Sales Development Program.
• Learn effective communication and sales techniques, industry-leading CRM tools, and internet advertising for SMBs.
• Progression opportunities with potential increases in compensation, titles, and responsibilities.

Compensation and Benefits

• First-year earnings: $50k-$65k (base + uncapped incentives).
• Year 2 on target earnings: $70k; top performers average $112k.
• Starting salary: $37k + commission.
