Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach swim skills to people of all ages and help build confidence in the water. The role emphasizes friendly customer service to members and guests, with flexible evening hours.

The position requires minimum age 15 and current or upcoming certification through YMCA Aquatics Academy. Training is provided, and the YMCA membership is included as a perk.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Current certification YMCA Swim Lessons or ARC Water Safety Instructor, CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen certification or must complete YMCA Aquatics Academy to certification.
• Passion for working with diverse youth and ability to provide high-quality instruction.
• Meets physical qualifications required for certification in job.

Requirements

• Must be at least 15 years old

• Passion for working with diverse youth and ability to provide a high-quality of instruction using age-appropriate practices
• Meets physical qualifications required for certification in job

Child Abuse Prevention

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
