Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Year Round - R&D Graduate Intern to work on embedded AI-enabled software for advanced hardware. You will develop, test, and integrate high-TRL software across FPGA platforms and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes real-time autonomous systems, AI methods, and scalable development workflows within a national security context. Part-time, flexible onsite/offsite arrangement.

Qualifications

• Earned bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Currently enrolled in a full-time accredited graduate program.
• GPA 3.0/4.0 or higher.
• Ability to work up to 30 hours/week during the academic year and up to 40 hours/week in summer.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and integrate high-TRL software for embedded platforms.
• Apply AI-assisted development methods to improve productivity and quality.
• Implement AI and autonomy algorithms for real-time execution.
• Collaborate across hardware, firmware, software, and mission-domain experts.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop testing and prototype demonstrations.
