Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an Intern Summer - R&D Undergrad to support embedded systems work onsite in New Mexico. You will write embedded software for state-of-the-art SoCs and develop firmware for navigation, guidance, and control applications while testing real-time hardware/software solutions critical to national security.

The role requires full-time undergraduate status, a STEM major, and a 3.0 GPA or higher, with up to 40 hours per week in summer and U.S.

Qualifications

• Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited undergraduate program.
• Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
• If you do not have a HS diploma, apply to a high school intern position.
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Experience developing and deploying embedded hardware or software.
• Experience targeting embedded processors in state of the art SoCs.
• Experience with embedded operating systems.
• Experience using revision control and bug tracking tools (Jira, Gitlab).
• Experience with C, C++ and Python.
• Experience with guidance, navigation, and control algorithms or sensors.
• Excellent teaming and communication skills.
