Job summary

Huron-Clinton Metroparks is seeking a year-round, part-time Interpreter to present a variety of interpretive programs to school groups, families and the general public in Southeast Michigan.

Responsibilities include planning talks, demonstrations, and promoting public interest in natural, historical and cultural resources, with duties spanning program delivery, logistics, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in nature interpretation or related field is preferred.
• Experience in interpretation or education is beneficial.
• CIG certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Ability to develop and carry out diversified interpretive programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, conduct and enhance interpretive presentations to students, families, and the public.
• Promote participation in interpretive programs and share resources.
• Work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and different shifts.
• Register groups, create invoices, and handle visit logistics and communications.
