Job summary

Huron–Clinton Metroparks in Michigan is seeking a year-round, part-time Interpreter to present interpretive programs to school groups, families and the public, sharing the natural and cultural history of Southeast Michigan across metroparks.

You will develop talks, demonstrations, register groups, handle logistics, greet visitors, and assist with events. A minimum Associate degree is required; a Bachelor's is preferred, and CIG certification or ability to obtain within one year is expected.

Qualifications

Associate degree in nature interpretation or related field; Bachelor's preferred.
Experience in interpretation, education or related field preferred.
CIG certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver interpretive presentations to students, families, and the public.
Promote public interest in interpretive programs and events.
Register groups, prepare invoices and handle logistics for visits.
Greet visitors and provide information on park activities and facilities.
Maintain indoor facilities and assist with events as needed.
