Job summary

Huron-Clinton Metroparks is seeking a year-round part‑time Interpreter to present a variety of interpretive programs to students, families, and the public across Southeast Michigan. You will plan, prepare, and deliver talks, demonstrations, and field experiences, supporting natural and cultural resource education.

The role requires a relevant associate degree, strong public speaking skills, and the ability to work varied hours including weekends.

Qualifications

Associate degree in nature interpretation, environmental education, biology or natural resources management (Bachelor's preferred).
CIG certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire and maintain thereafter.
Ability to design and deliver interpretive programs aligning with NGSS/MDES standards.
Experience in interpretation or education preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and present interpretive programs to students, families, and the public.
Promote programs and public interest through lectures and publicity.
Register groups, prepare invoices, and handle visit logistics.
Greet visitors and provide information on park activities and facilities.
Maintain facilities and assist with special events as needed.
