Job summary

Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks is hiring a Lifeguard Attendant (Year-Round) to ensure the safety of swimmers and non-swimmers at Dundalk and Randallstown centers. The role involves enforcing rules, maintaining a clean facility, and providing first aid as needed.

Qualified candidates will have lifeguard experience and ARC certifications, with potential reimbursement for lifeguard certification. Training and background checks are required prior to start.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age by September 1, 2026.
• Must obtain/maintain American Red Cross lifeguard and first aid/CPR/AED certifications.
• Must pass retraining as required during employment.
• Lifeguard certification may be reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Safeguards swimmers and non-swimmers at county aquatics facilities.
• Enforces pool rules with excellent customer service.
• Keeps facilities clean and hazards free.
• Monitors weather and water conditions and alerts patrons as needed.
• Opens/closes facilities and directs water-related activities.
• Provides first aid and assists with general facility safety.
