Job summary

Tarkett is seeking a Yarn Technical Specialist in Dalton, GA to ensure quality and consistency of yarn products. You will address quality issues, collaborate with Manufacturing, Product Development, and Leadership, and drive process integration across facilities to improve efficiency and yarn quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years experience in extrusion and yarn finishing production environments
  • Knowledge of extrusion, twisting/heatset, air entangling, and cabling production processes, automation, and quality improvement methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Leadership and teamwork ability
  • Proficiency in data analysis and root cause analysis techniques

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across Manufacturing, Product Development, and Leadership to drive quality and process improvements
  • Drive process integration between facilities to enhance efficiency and yarn quality
  • Lead continuous improvement activities from extrusion to finished yarn

Job Title: Yarn Technical Specialist

Location: Dalton, GA

Position Summary:Asa Yarn Technical Specialist, you willbe responsible forensuring the quality and consistency of our yarn products, addressing quality issues, and collaborating with various departments within the organization. Your technicalexpertiseand ability to drive process integration andCTQimprovementswill be essential to our success.

Key Responsibilities:

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Liaise with all functional areas, including Manufacturing, Product Development, and Senior Leadership, to ensure effective communication and alignment on quality and process improvement initiatives.

Process Integration and Improvement:

  • Drive process integration efforts between facilities to enhance efficiency and product quality.

  • Lead and support continuous improvement activitiesfrom Extrusion to finished yarn production.

Automation Initiatives:

  • Assistin the planning and implementation of yarn-related automation initiatives to improve production processes and product quality.

Strategic Execution:

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to execute corporate strategy, especially in areas related to yarn production and quality.

Technical Resource:

  • Serve as a technical resource for the broader team, providingexpertiseand guidance onallyarn-related matters.

Root Cause Analysis:

  • Implement root cause analysis methodologies toidentifyand address the underlying causes of quality issues.

Equipment Complement:

  • Maintain an equipment catalog andprovidedirection on yarnfocusedcapital projects.

  • Assess andprovidedirectivesfor PMprograms.

New Product Development:

  • Collaborate with Product Development teams in the creation and approval of new yarn products and equipment, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.

  • Stay abreast ofmodern technologiesin the field.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field

  • 5+ Years experience inExtrusionand Yarn finishingproduction environments

  • DemonstratedknowledgeofExtrusion,Twisting/Heatset, Air Entangling, and Cablingproduction processes, automation, and quality improvement methodologies.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Leadership experience and the ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Proficiencyin data analysis tools and root cause analysis techniques.
