Job summary

Norton Do it Best Homestore is seeking a Yard Associate/Delivery Driver to provide outstanding customer service, assist customers in the lumberyard, and ensure timely deliveries. You will keep the yard clean, manage stock, and support loading/unloading for customer orders.

You will use POS systems, follow safety standards, and work with a team to maintain a welcoming store environment. This role offers growth and hands-on product knowledge in a retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers, answering questions, helping them find merchandise, and suggesting add-ons or processing special orders.
• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems to assist with price lookups, special orders, and order entry.
• Maintain inviting, clean, and orderly lumberyard; assist with housekeeping tasks.
• Assist in taking regular inventory of stock.
• Assist with loading customers’ vehicles and verify invoices for accuracy.
• Daily upkeep and organization of lumber stacks.
• Assist yard staff with other tasks as needed.
• Identify shoplifters and respond according to store policy.
• Inspect delivery vehicle before daily use to ensure proper working condition.
• Maintain ongoing communication with customers about delivery status.
• Load products into vehicle per company specifications.
• Unload products and review orders with customers for accuracy.
• Adhere to all store policies and safety standards.

Job Summary:

Yard associates are expected to maintain a positive representation of Norton Homestore by providing an outstanding customer service experience consistent with company values. The main task of a yard associate is to assist customers and maintain a clean and efficient lumberyard. They should be willing to continually learn and expand their knowledge of the retail industry. As a Delivery driver they are expected to maintain a positive representation both on the road and off. The main task of a delivery driver is to provide timely delivery of customers’ orders and provide setup and operational instructions to the customer as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers, answering their questions, helping them find merchandise, and suggesting add-on sales that will help them complete their project. This may also include processing special orders.
• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems in order to assist with price lookup, special orders, and order entry.
• Create an inviting environment for customers by maintaining a clean and orderly lumberyard, which will include housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Assist in taking regular inventory of stock.
• Assist with loading customer’s vehicles. Check invoices to make sure the correct products are loaded.
• Assist with daily upkeep and straightening of lumber stacks.
• Help yard staff with other tasks as needed.
• Be vigilant to identify shoplifters and other types of theft. Respond with appropriate action, according to store policy.
• Inspect the vehicle before starting that day’s deliveries to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition.
• Maintain ongoing communication with customers to update them on the status of their delivery.
• Load products into the vehicle according to company specifications.
• Unload products according to customer specifications and review orders with customers to ensure it is correct.
• Adhere to all store policies and safety standards.
