Job summary

Star Nursery, Inc. is seeking Yard Workers to assist customers, provide sales support, and ensure a safe, well-maintained outdoor yard. You will answer questions, recommend products and materials, and help maintain general plant upkeep and quality control.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading plant material, forklift operation, stocking and labeling, store upkeep, and receiving merchandise. You will work outdoors in all weather and contribute to a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in lawn and garden center industry or equivalent.
• Must pass a drug test (safety sensitive position).
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Job description

Yard Workers are important members of the Star Nursery team. They provide outstanding customer services and sales assistance to customers. They answer customers’ questions, recommend products/ materials & provide a safe working/shopping environment. They provide general plant upkeep & quality control and work outside in yard area of our stores.

Job Description:

• Follows operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time service
• Follows policies in the areas of operations techniques, materials usage.
• Loading and unloading plant material
• Operating a forklift
• Product knowledge & Plant maintenance (watering, cleaning, pruning)
• Stocking & Labeling
• Store upkeep
• Receiving, Stocking & Moving Merchandise
• Performs other related duties as assigned
