Job summary

Star Nursery, Inc. is seeking Yard Workers to support customer service and sales in our outdoor yard areas. The role involves loading/unloading plant material, operating forklifts, stocking and maintaining product knowledge, and keeping yards tidy.

The position requires physical work, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to work in all weather conditions; pick up training for forklift operation is provided and safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• Experience in lawn and garden center industry or equivalent.
• Must be able to lift & move plant material.
• Must be able to pass a drug test (safety sensitive position).
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Job description

Yard Workers are important members of the Star Nursery team. They provide outstanding customer services and sales assistance to customers. They answer customers’ questions, recommend products/ materials & provide a safe working/shopping environment. They provide general plant upkeep & quality control and work outside in yard area of our stores.

Job Description:

• Follows operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time service
• Follows policies in the areas of operations techniques, materials usage.
• Loading and unloading plant material
• Operating a forklift
• Product knowledge & Plant maintenance (watering, cleaning, pruning)
• Stocking & Labeling
• Store upkeep

• Performs other related duties as assigned
