Job summary

Viking Inc. in Machias, Maine, is seeking a yard associate to perform duties in the yard and support quality customer service. You will load deliveries, prepare orders, operate a forklift, and keep piles neat.

This full-time role requires lifting up to 100 pounds, basic math and reading skills, and adherence to company policies. Prior lumber yard experience is helpful; forklift certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior lumber yard experience is helpful.
• Prior building materials experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Load company vehicles in accordance with delivery invoices to include lifting and carrying merchandise, lumber and building materials.
• Prepare customer orders to include retrieving merchandise and materials from storage areas in accordance with customer invoices.
• Operate fork lift to load, unload and stock merchandise as needed.
• Put away product and keep lumber piles neat and organized
• Adhere to all approved company policies and procedures.
• Report customer complaints to Manager or Officers.
• Inventory goods and notify Manager of shortages and needed goods to be ordered.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Removal & Shoveling of Snow from material piles and yard during Winter Months

Salary Range:

$42,000.00 To $58,000.00 Annually

Basic Function:

To perform all assigned duties in the yard to assist with quality customer service.
