Job summary

Viking Inc in Warren, Maine is seeking a yard associate to perform material handling, order preparation, and forklift operation to support delivery and customer service. The role involves loading vehicles, stocking merchandise, and maintaining organized lumber piles.

Responsibilities include inventory checks, reporting shortages, and complying with company policies. Seasonal snow removal is also required, with opportunities for growth and benefits included.

Qualifications

• Experience in lumber yard operations is required.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds is required.
• Forklift certification preferred.

• Prepare customer orders to include retrieving merchandise and materials from storage areas in accordance with customer invoices.
• Operate forklift to load, unload and stock merchandise as needed.
• Put away product and keep lumber piles neat and organized.
• Adhere to all approved company policies and procedures.
• Report customer complaints to Manager or Officers.
• Inventory goods and notify Manager of shortages and needed goods to be ordered.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Removal & Shoveling of Snow from material piles and yard during Winter Months

Salary Range: $42,000.00 To $58,000.00 Annually

Basic Function:

To perform all assigned duties in the yard to assist with quality customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Load company vehicles in accordance with delivery invoices to include lifting and carrying merchandise, lumber and building materials.


• Prepare customer orders to include retrieving merchandise and materials from storage areas in accordance with customer invoices.


• Operate fork lift to load, unload and stock merchandise as needed.
