Job summary

EMR USA Metal Recycling is seeking a dependable General Laborer to join our yard operations. This role supports day-to-day tasks, maintains a clean, safe work environment, and assists with housekeeping and equipment upkeep.

The ideal candidate is safety-minded, reliable, able to work independently or in a team, and comfortable with physical labor such as lifting up to 50 pounds. Forklift experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to use basic hand tools (snip cutters, brooms, shovels, etc.).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Forklift experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workplace.
• Assist with general housekeeping and yard cleanup.
• Clean and prepare work areas by removing debris and hazards.
• Assist with equipment maintenance.
• Clean barges and equipment.
• Follow all operating, health, and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work overhead, climb ladders, kneel, and stand for extended periods
• Previous forklift experience is preferred
