Job summary

EMR USA Metal Recycling in Lake Charles, LA, is seeking a General Laborer to support yard operations, clean sites, and assist in equipment maintenance. You will sort and pick up recycling material while following health and safety protocols.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the willingness to work independently and as part of a team; forklift experience preferred and on-site work is expected.

General Laborer

The General Laborer will assist with the general day-to-day operations of the yard. To be successful, it must be able to work independently to accomplish daily tasks.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Clean and prepare sites by removing debris and possible hazards

What You’ll Need

• Ability to use variety of hand tools such as snip cutters, brooms, shovels, etc.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to work overhead, climb ladders, kneel, and stand for long periods.

Education

• High School graduate or G.E.D.
• Previous experience using a forklift preferred.
