Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, work safely and efficiently.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as scanners, carts, chutes and unloading devices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; work well in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Moves trailers between yard and doors; handles loading/unloading by hand when required.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management/central control.
• Documents trailer moves in Yard Management System or with switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Adheres to yard switching safety processes and procedures.
• May perform package handling duties: loads/unloads, sorts by conveyor, scans and tracks packages.
