Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a yard switcher/package handler to move trailers between yards and doors, and to assist with hand-level package handling. Responsibilities include coordinating trailer movements, documenting actions, and performing inspections to ensure safety and efficiency.

You may also load/unload packages and sort by labels, using scanners and carts in a fast-paced environment. Training and safety protocols are provided to ensure adherence to DOT and company standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Basic tools and equipment used in package handling are required.

Responsibilities

• Moves trailers to and from unload/load doors and yard.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management/central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Loads and unloads packages by hand and sorts using conveyor systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
