Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a part-time Yard/Package Switcher to move trailers and assist in loading and unloading packages. You will coordinate movements in the yard, document actions, and ensure safety procedures are followed.

The role requires minimal education, a valid driver's license with a DOT file, and ability to operate scanners and dock equipment. E-Verify participation and accommodations are provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and DOT file required.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced yard.
• Dexterity to sort and handle packages and use hand-held scanners.

Responsibilities

• Perform trailer switches between yard and doors and move trailers.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Assist with package handling as needed: load/unload, sort by hand.
• Operate conveyor system by selecting appropriate path and sorting packages.
