Job summary

Qualifications

• No education required.
• 6 months experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety methods.
• Ability to sort packages by reading labels/numbers.
• Proficient with basic tools and equipment like scanners and carts.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers from yard to doors and back, and switch trailers between yard and doors.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management/central control.
• Document trailer moves in Yard Management System or with switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Carry out package handling duties as needed: load/unload, sort, and move packages.
• Use hand-to-surface methods for package handling and operate equipment safely.
