Job summary

FedEx is seeking a yard switcher/package handler in Pennsylvania. You will move trailers, load and unload packages, and coordinate with management to ensure safe, efficient yard operations.

No education is required; six months of experience is preferred. A valid driver’s license and DOT compliance are required. Pay is $22.50–$24.00 per hour, shift-dependent (day/twi), with E-Verify participation noted.

Qualifications

• No experience required; six months preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors (load/unload area).
• Coordinate trailer movements with management and central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Load and unload packages onto delivery vehicles, trailers, and carts.
• Sort and route packages by scanning labels and reading charts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
