Job summary

FedEx Logistics is seeking a dedicated Yard/Switcher to move trailers between yards and doors and assist with loading, unloading, and sorting packages. You will coordinate with yard control, log moves, and perform safety inspections to ensure efficient, safe operations.

You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, lifting and handling packages, and using basic scanners and dock equipment. No specific education required, but a valid CDL/driver’s license and DOT compliance are

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow safety instructions.
• Ability to read numbers and sort packages accurately.
• Proficient with basic handheld scanners and dock equipment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yards and doors as needed.
• Coordinate trailer movements with yard control.
• Document trailer moves in the Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Sort and load/unload packages using hand-to-surface methods.
• Sort packages by conveyor systems based on labels and numbers.
