Job summary

Surge is hiring a Spotter on 1st shift in Elwood, IL. The role moves and positions trailers, transports units, and assists with loading at loading docks in a busy warehouse setting.

Pay is $25.50 per hour, with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, requiring safe operation of yard vehicles and adherence to safety policies. Weekend work is part of the regular schedule.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a similar position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to safely operate yard vehicles and power industrial equipment.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good analytical and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Must follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Ability to lift and/or pull up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Safely move and spot trailers at designated loading docks and staging areas.
• Attach the drive unit to trailers and transport trailers to and from dock doors.
• Inspect trucks and equipment before and after use and report safety concerns.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and operating guidelines.
• Operate power industrial equipment when required and trained.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse and transportation teams.
• Complete required paperwork and reports.
• Maintain a safe, organized yard environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
