Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a dependable dockworker to safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and freight in the yard. You will perform equipment inspections, load/unload, and ensure freight is secured to prevent movement in transit.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and compliance with safety rules. Night/weekend shifts may be required; a CDL is preferred if driving on public roads.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• CDL and acceptable MVR required if driving on public roads.
• FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse registration if CDL holder.
• Experience in transportation is a plus.
• Stable work history is expected.

Responsabilidades

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and other large equipment in the yard for loading/unloading.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of yard and dock equipment.
• Cube, load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand.
• Load freight to prevent damage and shifting in transit using blocking/bracing and load bars, straps, dunnage and air bags.
• Set up, break down and hook trailers safely.
• Ensure pup trailers have tilt bars lowered before loading.
• Raise and lower landing gear.
• Monitor yard for unsafe drivers and non-employees; notify management.
• Work in outdoor weather conditions.
• Perform duties of dockworker as requested and communicate with supervisors.
