Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a yard switcher/package handler to move trailers between yards and doors, coordinate with central control, and perform inspections. You will also load and unload packages using hand-to-surface methods and operate basic equipment.

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to follow safety processes in a fast-paced environment. Prior switcher or CDL experience preferred, no formal education required.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: None required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and sort packages accurately.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors and coordinate with control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Load and unload packages safely and sort by hand.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
