Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a Forklift/Switcher-style Yard Handler to move trailers between yards and doors, and to assist with package handling as needed. The role requires following safety procedures, operating yard equipment, and coordinating with central control for efficient trailer movements.

Candidates should hold a valid driver’s license with a current DOT file; no prior experience is required though 6 months in switching or CDL operation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) file.
• Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.

Responsibilities

• Moves trailers between yard and doors; hooks and relocates trailers in yard.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management or central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
