Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is hiring a Yard Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers between yard and doors and to assist with package handling in a fast-paced distribution environment.

You will communicate with management to coordinate movements, document trailer moves, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and sort packages using handheld scanners and conveyor equipment. This full-time role involves shifts including midnight and sunrise sorts.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow safety instructions.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use scanners and basic loading tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors as defined.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management/central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Load and unload packages onto vehicles, conveyors, carts, and gratings.
• Sort packages by labels and charts and operate conveyors as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
