Job summary

Transdev in Boston, MA is seeking a Yard Supervisor to oversee the Washington, Freeport, and Readville yards. The role combines field and office duties to ensure safe, on-time bus service and effective dispatching for customers.

The Yard Supervisor will supervise drivers, coordinate with maintenance, monitor inspections, and prepare weekly/monthly reports while upholding safety and company standards under management guidance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• College coursework preferred.
• Two years of passenger transit related experience and/or supervisory experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Detail oriented, well organized, and possess effective time management skills.
• Basic computer skills with Word, Excel, internet, email, and/or database software preferred.
• Must be able to read a map and possess knowledge of the service area.
• Must be able to work as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that World Class Service is provided to customers and provides hands-on assistance and information.
• Ensures schedule compliance and assists in timely yard departures to improve on-time performance; makes changes to bus assignments as needed.
• Monitors pre-trip inspections to guarantee vehicle safety and compliance.
• Dispatches replacement buses/drivers for incidents and special services.
• Assigns manifests and documents assignments in the computer system.
• Coaches Drivers in response to video-recorded unsafe driving events.
• Supervises drivers regarding safety, service, and scheduling.
• Ensures routes are covered with appropriate vehicles, personnel, and information.
• Uses operating systems to monitor, dispatch, and improve on-street service.
• Ensures compliance with regulations, policy, and collective bargaining agreements.
