Job summary

BWT Logistics, through Red Baron Transportation, is seeking skilled CDL Yard Spotters to support day and night shift operations in our yard. This role focuses on safe, efficient trailer movement and adherence to DOT regulations.

The ideal candidate has a Class A CDL, a current DOT Medical Card, a clean driving record, and at least 3 years of yard spotter experience in a fast-paced environment. Outdoor work and physical tasks are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with active status.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Compliant with DOT FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• 3+ years yard spotter or CDL-related experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between dock doors, staging areas, and parking spots.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard tractors and trailers.
• Ensure trailers are chocked, secured, and sealed.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer locations and movements.
• Communicate with warehouse leadership and operations to coordinate trailer activity.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns.
• Keep yard clean, organized, and obstruction-free.
• Support other yard and site tasks as required.

Position Summary:

Red Baron Transportation, a division of BWT Logistics is seeking skilled and dependable CDL Yard Spotters to support our day and night shift operations. This role is critical to maintaining the safe and efficient flow of trailers within our yard. The ideal candidate has a strong safety focus and thrives in the fast‑paced environment of a logistics and distribution center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently move trailers between dock doors, staging areas, and designated parking spots.
• Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on all yard tractors and trailers.
• Ensure all parked trailers are properly chocked, secured, and sealed.
• Maintain precise and up‑to‑date records of trailer locations and movements.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse leadership and operations teams to coordinate trailer activity.
• Promptly identify and report any equipment malfunctions, potential hazards, or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and obstruction‑free yard environment.
• Support other yard and site‑related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Current and valid DOT Medical Card.
• Must be in active compliance with the DOT FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• A clean driving record with a proven history of safe operations.
• Must successfully pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a yard spotter or similar CDL role is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in operating yard tractors in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. and performing the physical tasks associated with the role.

PPE Requirements:

• Steel toe boots.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $20.00 - $22.00 per hour.

Schedule:
