Job summary

BWT Logistics' Red Baron Transportation division seeks skilled CDL Yard Spotters to support day and night shifts. You will move trailers between docks, perform pre-trip inspections, and maintain yard safety in a fast-paced distribution center.

Candidates must have a CDL, DOT Medical Card, pass background/drug screens, and at least 3 years of yard spotter experience. The role offers $20–$22 per hour, a 36/48 rotation, and benefits after 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL Class A and DOT Medical Card required.
• Must be in active compliance with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Clean driving record with a history of safe operations.
• Able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Minimum 3 years in yard spotter or similar CDL role preferred.
• Proficient in operating yard tractors in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely move trailers between dock doors, staging areas, and parking spots.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard equipment.
• Ensure trailers are chocked, secured, and sealed when parked.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer locations and movements.
• Coordinate trailer activity with warehouse leadership and operations teams.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and obstruction-free yard area.
• Assist with other yard and site-related tasks as required.

Position Summary

Red Baron Transportation, a division of BWT Logistics is seeking skilled and dependable CDL Yard Spotters to support our day and night shift operations. This role is critical to maintaining the safe and efficient flow of trailers within our yard. The ideal candidate has a strong safety focus and thrives in the fast-paced environment of a logistics and distribution center.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently move trailers between dock doors, staging areas, and designated parking spots.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all yard tractors and trailers.
• Ensure all parked trailers are properly chocked, secured, and sealed.
• Maintain precise and up-to-date records of trailer locations and movements.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse leadership and operations teams to coordinate trailer activity.
• Promptly identify and report any equipment malfunctions, potential hazards, or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and obstruction-free yard environment.
• Support other yard and site-related tasks as required.

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Current and valid DOT Medical Card.

Compensation and Benefits

• $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
