Job summary

Holmes Lumber (a division of Carter Lumber) is seeking a motivated yard associate to assist customers, load orders, and keep the yard organized. You will pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery and help maintain inventory with cycle counts in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Training for forklift operation will be provided, and a friendly, team-focused attitude is essential. This entry-level role offers growth opportunities within a growing company.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Familiarity with building materials is a plus.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to learn forklift operation (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with selection and loading of orders.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Maintain yard inventory with cycle counts.
• Keep yard organized and clean; operate forklift after training.

Description

You will assist contractors and do‑it‑you‑selfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if you haven't operated one previously, we will train you and help you attain certification.
