Job summary

Holmes Lumber, a division of Carter Lumber, is hiring for a yard associate to help contractors and DIY customers with order selection and loading. You will pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery, keep the yard organized, and may operate a forklift with training offered.

The role emphasizes teamwork, outdoor work, and a friendly, helpful demeanor, with opportunities for growth within a family-owned, long-standing company.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• Friendly personality and helpful attitude.
• Ability to be a team player to support yard operations.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and DIY customers with selecting and loading orders.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Maintain yard inventory and conduct cycle counts to keep area organized.
• Operate a forklift and pursue training/certification if not already trained.

Description:

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if you haven’t operated one previously, we will train youand help youattain certification.
