Job summary

A leading manufacturer of steel products in Ohio is seeking a dedicated Yard Operator. The successful candidate will support pipe movement, ensure inventory accuracy, and maintain quality compliance within the threading department’s pipe yard. Responsibilities include coordinating with equipment operators, monitoring stock placement, conducting inventory audits, and maintaining safety standards. Candidates must possess strong communication, analytical skills, and a High School Diploma. Benefits include medical coverage, 401(k), and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and push or pull 75 pounds.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Heavy Equipment Operators for pipe storage.
• Monitor pipe flow for accurate stock placement.
• Conduct inventory audits and track material movement.
• Responsible for filling out all paperwork assigned accurately.
• Assist in inventory audits and track material movement for production scheduling.
• Conduct visual inspections for correct stencil markings, thread protectors, and mill identifiers.
• Report damaged, mismarked, or missing protectors and coordinate timely remediation.
• Ensure compliance with handling standards to preserve pipe integrity.
• Keep racks, walkways, and staging zones clean and orderly.
• Follow PPE requirements and safety protocols.
• Communicate risks or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
• Must be familiar with size, weight, grade, connection, and mill of all pipes being loaded or unloaded.
• Familiar with a pipe yard layout.
• Must be able to always conduct yourself in a professional manner when dealing with external and internal customers.
• Follow all company rules and policies.
• Follow all applicable instructions, specifications, and related requirements to meet the company's objectives.
• Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Your Day-to-Day Impact
